No medals at the HoS today but the celebrations continue. With the support from the State of Valais, "César Ritz" Colleges organized an event to promote the Matterhorn Region tourism destination as well as the opportunities for Chinese companies to invest and develop business in Valais. Olivier Roos from the Swiss Embassy in Beijing in his welcoming address, underlined the successful cooperation between Presence Suisse and "Cesar Ritz" with the House of Switzerland projects in Athens, Torino and now Beijing. He is leading a major project by Presence Suisse to promote the image of Switzerland in China which will include the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
The CEO of the Development Economic Western Switzerland (DEWS), Jacques Pasche explained how his organization, which was set-up by the governments of the Cantons Vaud, Valais, Neuchâtel and Jura, works to attract such companies as Yahoo! and Starbuck to choose the region for their European Headquarters. The DEWS slogan is Downtown Europe.
H. Fournier and Nicolas Luo presented study opportunities abroad at "Cesar Ritz" Colleges to the attendees, a group of journalists, media representatives, educational consultants and "César Ritz" alumni working in Beijing.
The conference was followed by an apéritif and a Swiss dinner prepared and served by the "César Ritz" students working at the HoS.
